The Shattered Valley is not what it seems. Carved into the lifeless crust of the Ragillo badlands, it is a vast gorge filled with prehistoric flora, colossal reptiles, and warring tribes of the native Agama species. For centuries, the Sitori, sworn peacekeepers of the valley, held a fragile balance between conflict and coexistence. But now, that balance has been shattered.
The Szhalu, a tribe of cunning, chameleon-like Agama, long oppressed by the warlike Triceras, have uncovered remnants of ancient arcane machinery, remnants of a previous civil war between the Sitori and the Xantu tribes, buried in the ruins of the Green Place. With them, they’ve built devastating weapons, unleashing fire and ruin against their ancestral foes - the triceratops tribe of Triceras. The Triceras have answered with overwhelming force, and now open war threatens to consume the valley.
But a darker hand moves beneath it all. In the shadow of this rising bloodshed, the Rakari, a secretive group of tiger-like humanoids, have manipulated events from behind the veil. It was they who gave the Szhalu the technology. It is they who now fan the flames of vengeance. Their goal: to fracture the valley’s power, further weakening all the tribes and emerge as the sole controllers of a new order.
With the tribes on the brink of annihilation, the Sitori summon outside aid. Meanwhile, a rare celestial omen, the Thirteenth Moon, is fast approaching. When it rises, all tribes must gather under sacred truce in a ritual known as the Cemanahuac (meaning the Blood Moon Gathering). If the adventurers can reach the rival chieftains in time and convince them to attend, there may yet be peace. But the path is treacherous, and the Rakari will stop at nothing to see it end in blood.
